The Grey Wolf guards the warm day, the White Deer guards the long night. There is a legend in my hometown, when the White Deer disappears, children who leave home will have nightmares... Do you miss home?

Mo Rigen, the incarnation of the Grey Wolf in Tianbao Fuyao Lu, is the eldest son of the Shiwei tribe leader and an exorcist in the Exorcism Department. He had come to Chang'an to find the White Deer.

Personality[]

Honorable, hero-complex with a high sense of responsibility who loves to take care of or protect the weak. He's not at all attracted to men, even to the point of lamenting to Hongjun that he tried things out to get aroused thinking about Lu Xu and failed. But the Grey Wolf was always 'made' to accompany the White Deer, and in the end he did manage to feel real, genuine attraction to Lu Xu, though a lot of things happened before then.

Appearance[]

According to his first appearance, "his facial features were evenly spaced and well-etched, his cheekbones were high, his eyebrows were as dark as hawk feathers, and the curve of his lips was well-defined." His skin was a healthy bronze, and he had thick black hair with many small braids. He wore a sheepskin shoulder capelet on one shoulder and black hunting boots. In addition, he had a bow, quiver and a travel bag around his waist[1]. Mo Rigen later swapped his clothing for the Exorcism Department uniform Li Jinglong ordered.

As the Grey Wolf, Mo Rigen seems to have a winter coat and a summer coat. He also retained the travel bag, as Hongjun clutched onto it the first time he rode on Mo Rigen's back. In the donghua, his wolf form is white with blue markings, with small braids on his mane around his neck and under his chin.

Background[]

Mo Rigen is the eldest son of the Shiwei current ruler, though he cannot take leadership as he is the Grey Wolf so the position of tribe leader was given to his second brother.

Powers[]

As the Grey Wolf, he can awaken people from their nightmares. He also is an expert archer and has the weapon Seven Nail-headed Arrows.

Story[]

Relationships[]

Lu Xu[]

As the grey wolf, Mo Rigen's destiny was to meet the White deer, and become husband and wife to watch over their people and lands and regain The peacefullness of the night, as when the white deer dissapered, nightmares raged the grasslands. Mo Rigen first thought that the white deer, in this case, Lu Xu, would be a female. However, he soon found that Lu Xu, his fated partner, is male. Their relationship goes through many problems but in the end they resolve it.

Kong Hongjun[]

Mo Rigen takes Hongjun in as a little brother figure quite fast, asking him if he wants to sleep a bit longer rather early into the story and plugging his ears with the cotton on their first mission at Pingkang Li when Hongjun was confused as to what to do with it. Hongjun was also the first person he told about the legend of the Grey Wolf and the White Deer, Mo Rigen's purpose for coming to Chang'an, and what Mo Rigen truly was.

Li Jinglong[]

Mo Rigen is Li Jinglong's second-in-command, for reasons truly unknown. Sometimes, Mo Rigen even teases him a lot about his jealousy and feelings for Hongjun, with the two talking about dealing with relationship problems. Mo Rigen appears to be Li Jinglong's wing-man and vice versa.
